Happy Thanksgiving, Curious George

What are you most thankful for on Thanksgiving Day and every day? What are you most thankful for today? I think today’s Curious George story hits on one if not the best answer to that question when George and the Man in the Yellow Hat agree that they are most thankful for each other.

There is a little someone who I am especially thankful for today, will be on Thanksgiving Day, and I expect to be everyday for the rest of my life? For a little over three weeks, thanks to an impatient little girl named Emma Grace I have been a grandpa. Emma was not due to arrive till this Friday, September 1st, but she surprised the doctor and us all by coming on Saturday, August 5th, a day that we will celebrate by giving special thanks henceforth.

And thank you Emma Grace for those extra days you have already given us. We choose Star Trek’s Mr. Spock’s greeting for you and everyone we love with that special love that makes us love every body: “Live long and prosper.” May we all make everyday Thanksgiving Day, giving thanks for the true treasures in our lives, each other.
