If I Lived Alone

The fatalist says, “We are born alone and we die alone.” All of us at one time or another have given credence to the myth that we are alone. Even Jesus in a time of pain and despair cried out from the cross, “Father, father, why have you forsaken me?”

But we are not alone. Elsewhere in the New Testament it is written, “Seeing as we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” Endurance is the real meaning of the word translate patience in that verse. Knowing that we are not alone helps us to bravely face anything.

Ole Ego stalks us all and would if it were possible separate us from the love of God and devour us. Yet as it is written, “Nothing (no thing) shall be able to separate us from the love of God, neither life nor death nor any created thing…”

I loved reading today’s children’s book. And, yes, it was a little tough getting the last part out. One last quote and this time not from the Bible: “No man (no one) is an island entire to himself (or herself)…”

We are not alone.
