Star Baby

Yesterday the new star baby in our lives, Emma Grace, turned two weeks olds. I asked my son Jay to text me a new picture of her.

She still looks so tiny and new. For most of us guys, babies are not much fun till they lose their “rubber necks” and you can play with them, bouncing them on your knee, and throwing them in the air, making them laugh, and squeal with delight.

Emma will grow, play, laugh, and squeal with delight soon. These tiny and new days will be but precious memories. Our little star baby will be a part of many cherished memories and firsts – first Christmas, first birthday, first word, first step – so many firsts.

Emma, Dear, we are so glad that you are here. In three months I will turn seventy three, the age my daddy was when he passed. My journey is winding to an ending and yours, Star Baby, is just beginning. I hope to watch you grow and to see at least as much of your life as my dad got to see of your dad’s.

Your friend and fellow traveler and new grandpa,

David White
