Old Bear
In today’s children’s story a group of friends plan and carry out a rescue mission and are reunited with a dear old friend. It is a story with a happy ending. All the best stories do. When it comes to our story one of the best lines I ever heard was, “If you are not happy you can be sure it is not the end of the story.”
If have known more than a few unhappy people in my life. When someone you care about is unhappy you wish there was something you could do to make them happy. But I believe that true happiness, like Jesus said of heaven, dwells within us. Oh, we can share our happiness with others, but neither they nor we can make anyone else happy. Happiness is a personal journey requiring us to “go within” and tap-into that part of heaven that lies within each one of us.
Little Bear asked Old Bear if he had been lonely stuck so long in the attic by himself and he said yes but that he had spent most of the time sleeping. Many of us spend most of our lives asleep rather than feeling the loneliness and separation. Wanna feel connected- “Go within” and get in touch with the heaven within that connects us to all. It is a rescue mission that always ends with a happy reunion with your higher best self surrounded by loving family and friends. We make our own happy endings. Paradise may be a myth but heaven and happiness are not.
