The Wind In The Willows Chapter Five
The Hallmark Channel is winding up a month of Christmas movies that they have named Christmas in July. Today, I begin reading from A Christmas Treasury Very Merry Stories And Poems Illustrated by Kevin Hawkes. It is as its name implies A Christmas Treasury. The first selection is from chapter five of The Wind In The Willows.
I scoured through countless book in thrift stories in at least five states to find the books I chose to record and I picked this one because it contained a story that my brother Robert and I begged our mama to read to us over and over till we had it almost memorized – Christmas At The Hollow Tree Inn.
Now, it along with this wonderful collection of Christmas treasures will belong to my grand baby girl who is due to arrive in about a month. Folks are having a baby shower for her this Saturday. Emma is the new front runner of names. Her Auntie Em would have liked that one. Whatever name Lauren and Jay pick, I am sure that it will fit our new little Texas rose perfectly.
Your friend, fellow traveler, and soon to be grandpa,
David White
