First Things First

Today is the last One-Minute Bedtime Story and includes a little more information on the three who produced it. The time of bedtime stories in a child’s life is a brief but a wonderful time filled with creating lots of warm and wonderful memories for both parent and child.

One of my favorite jokes to tell children just past the bed-time story time age is a play on the words of the title of today’s One Minute Bedtime Story. The story is about a Count whose wife conspires with another man to force her husband to tell them where he has hidden his treasure so they can run off together with his fortune.

The Count awakes tied to his bed and is told that unless he tells them the whereabouts of his treasure before they count to three his head will be whacked off with a hatchet. “One, Two, Three, Wait, Oops, Too Late, Whack.”

The moral of the story is: Don’t hatch your Count before he chickens.” Kids, and I am one, love that one.
