Sinbad and the Genie

Some years ago after spending the better part of a lifetime tilting at wind minds and always arguing that my opinion must be right I learned an invaluable lesson. It is in answer to the question, “Would you rather be happy or right?”

It would appear Sinbad’s genie after five thousand years cooped-up in a bottle would still prefer being right to being happy. “Not me,” says this old man stretching and smiling, “A thousand lifetimes are too short for that.”

Learning from others stories is a better way to learn the really tough lessons.
