The Lion and the Mouse

Today we spend a minute with two creatures whom necessity brings together for their mutual good. They say that the true measure of greatness is how you treat those that some may think are “lesser.” Jesus said, “In as much as you did or did not do it to the least of these you have done it to me.” We are connected. Nothing we think, do, or say is thought, said, or done in a vacuum.

I like the Aesop’s tale of the courageous little mouse rescuing the king of the beasts. Everyone has some power and a wise king knows that and considers it before making any decision or decree.. We would all do well to remember that fact as well before we act.

In this time space jungle things are not always as they seem. There is a line in the Old Testament where God’s prophet is speaking to power and that divine message is still the same today: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the LORD.” And I remind you that Spirit dwells in every rock and tree and creature.

“I mirror you, I admire you, I worship you.”
