“Pretty As A Spotted Pup”

I wonder if Disney had in mind the above quote when he and his animators first created 101 Dalmatians in 1961? Perhaps not but it came to mind as I was considering something to write to go along with today’s children book reading.

I am a little over one third of the way through posting my two-hundred ninety plus children’s book recordings for the second time on my blog and it is nice not to have to try to search for inspiration as the next book is the inspiration. I have not looked back to see if I am repeating what I previously posted last go round.

Oldsters like myself have a tendency to repeat ourselves, yet some things bear repeating especially encouraging words. 101 Dalmatians is an encouraging story. Cruella d Vil is not successful in making furs of all those pretty puppies. Smart as she is, she is out smarted. Since it is a Disney story there is no need for a spoiler alert because you can always count on a happy ending.

I believe in happy endings and if I could coin a phrase to express my encouraging view point on happy endings it would go something like the following:

“If times seem especially hard, sad, or scary, wait for the happy ending for it is surely yet to be.”
