Today is Not Jesus’s Actual Birthday

Jesus of Bethlehem, Nazareth, Galilee, Jerusalem was most likely not born on December 25th. We do not know for sure the exact date or day of his birth or even the specify place in Bethlehem. Tourist visiting the area are taken to several places that claim to be “the spot” as if that spot, that land, or even that person were more “holy” than any others. Such thinking belies the verse, one of my favorites in all of the thirty-nine (Old Testament) and twenty-six books (New Testament) in the Cannon (voted on by men) books called The Bible. Bible is really just a word than means book and when it comes to reverencing people, places or books, one above others, I think of the song “Hallelujah” that says:

“You think I took the name in vain

But I don’t even know the name

And if I did well really what’s it to you.

There’s a blaze of light in every word

It doesn’t matter which you heard

The broken or the holy hallelujah.”

That favored Bible verse by the way is “God is all in all.” I interpret that to mean that God is everyone, everything, everywhere. Merry Christmas to all you baby Jesus’s out there and Namaste on Christmas Day whenever it is and every day.
