Making The Bumpers Match

Admittedly I do try hard to find the encouraging word in everything. It is not that hard really. When I got my new heavy duty black bumper in Wyoming several months ago I knew I was going to have to do something about that no longer matching rear white bumper. I figured I would end up buying a similar one for the back as I did for my Jeep Wrangler some years ago. My back bumper is steel and has a few dings, it is after all a work truck, but I had deftly covered them with http://www.theencouragingword.co bumper stickers (I still have some of the new ones shown in the above picture if you would like to help me spread the encouraging word.) I decided for the time being to just peal coat paint the back bumper to match the front.

What is the encouraging word that I find in Making The Bumpers Match? Just this, once upon a time in a galaxy far far away twins were born, Luke and Leia. George Lucas has made several top box office grossing movies about them. Early in the first one, before they found out how they were related, they almost kissed. I never had a twin sister, no blood born sister at all, but Jaimie Lannister did in The Game Of Thrones HBO saga and for seven seasons he had no trouble at all doing a lot more than kissing his twin sister. And though she was bad to the bone, and he well knew it, he fought his way back to be by her side in the end. They came into this world together and left it the same way. Now you may be one who thinks sister kissing is gross but never having had one but thinking of all women as my sisters, I do not. Grant you I have found hugging gets me in a lot less trouble usually but as Joe Biden has learned the hard way I do make sure I have permission first.

Although I am one who often has often gone where angels fear to tread so to speak, here goes. One of my lovely sisters Sarah Silverman twitted this morning, “We now live in a country where fifteen women say that the President raped them and nothing is going to be done about it.” Last summer a man was nominated and confirmed as a U.S. Supreme Court justice who had a woman charge him of the same crime. And I know it was he said she said but even those believing she told the truth knew her testimony did not matter to the President nor to those who support him.

I heard a black woman in a crime drama movie that I watched again recently say to a very charismatic white man, “I have nothing to say to you for I know what kind of man you are. You say a lot of important sounding things but you only want to always get what you want from anyone you want.” Mister Justice, Mister President, words do matter but deeds even more. Hear these, “You cannot do wrong and get by, no matter how hard you may try.” Oh, you can indeed for a while, like many sowing wild oats and praying for a crop failure, but whatsoever we sow, we shall also reap.

Well, many of my Trump supporting friends will perhaps not be too encouraged by my words today. One told me he still supports the President because he has done everything he said he would do. I thought of the “grabbing P” comment aired before his election and how many good Christian folk seemed to have no problem with that. What about consent? Bad men get and stay in office by consent. Sister Sarah is I am afraid right. Did he not say he could kill someone on the streets of New York City and his numbers would still go up? All this “No collusion, no collusion.” Did he not on nation wide TV ask the Russians to hack Hillary Clinton’s email? I heard somewhere someone say recently that the fact checkers report that this President has told more lies than any previous one. We all lie but we all are not all record holders at it, nor President, nor Supreme Court justice. Some lies carry a lot more weight and hurt a lot more people.

I have this blog, but I also have a vote and mine will go to the candidate who has in my opinion the best chance of replacing Donald Trump as President. And his or her name I will proudly display on my matching bumpers before the next Presidential election.

They say you should never discussion sex, politics, or religion but I think I touched on (pun intended) all three. When did we stop being the land of the brave and the free? Dump Trump in 2020.
