Miracles

I have come to believe, as blasphemous as it might seem to some of you, that Jesus Christ was no more the son or child of God than anyone of us. I do not deny that he was God’s son. I only assert that we are as well and so do his own words when he taught us to pray, “Our father.” But what of his miracles? Did he not also say? “Greater works than I have done you shall do because I go to our father.” Where are our miracles?

I have asked myself that question since it began to truly dawn on me Who I really am. And no that was not while I was for many years a practicing Christian. And for all those years of practicing I never did get it right. And I think now that is perhaps something that I was never intended to do. I did however get the occasional clue during my search in church that contributed to my later learning of my own secret identity and yours as well. But then the clues are and were really everywhere from that little boy at five jumping off the front porch with a towel clothes pinned around his neck pretending he could fly like Superman, literally everywhere not just in the Bible or church. I know now what I always knew really that I am a child of God, God is with us, in is, is us, to live countless lives and experience all there is to experience through our eyes, our hands, our feet, our lives.

But as I asked where are our miracles? Well, let us take a look at Jesus big miracles and compare. And after all remember he said it, not me, that we would do bigger and better things than he did. He opened a blind beggar’s eyes to see – We by shining our love and light cause many begging and blinded to love to see. He made whole a withered hand, made the crippled, bed fast man to stand, healed a woman with a touch from nine years of constant bleeding – We with the loving touch of our healing hands do that and more every day in so many ways. We have power within us more than we often realize, the same as he did to heal, make whole, restore sight, and stop the bleeding.

And lastly as the little B.B. Gun wanting little boy in the Christmas Story movie says of the triple dog dare to a friend to stick his tongue to the frozen flag pole the – coup de gras. Jesus biggest and possibly best miracle was the raising from the dead of his three days dead friend, Lazarus. Top that one, David Copperfield. But we do it every time our love and our words inspire someone to shed their death shroud and come out of their tomb of grieving and feeling sorry for themselves thinking their lives already over and themselves as good as dead.

Wherever do you get all this crazy stuff, Dave? I just listen to the thoughts from my Higher Self. It used to surprise even me but no more for I know Who I am and Who you are. The only One capable of working Miracles.

Your friend and fellow traveler,

David White

Post Script ( I never spelled P. S. out before – I love firsts, don’t you?) If you saw the movie Dogma, so funny and also quite enlightening, you know that God Almighty on vacation here on planet earth might look like you or me and He/She does, imagine that, it is a start to you figuring out for yourself Who you really are.
