Smile

Smiles come to smilers, frown to frowners. Turn that umbrella upside down if you want to receive the bounty from above. I thought that ditty up after having a great burger basket for lunch with the utility contraction crew that I inspector for. There was a cute little waitress that served us. She would have been even prettier but she had such a sad frown on her face. She did not even smile when she talked of winning the Power Ball Lottery that would make her richer than Leonardo DiCaprio. The foreman of the crew joked, “I thought you already were.” She shot back still frowning, “Yeah, that’s why I am working here.” One of the guys said, “Just for fun” and I added, “Just for grins.”

Too often we all wear our hearts on our sleeves and our troubles on our faces. Hearts belong in our chests or breasts. Oh, no, don’t get him started. Too late. It dawned on me why I am so attracted to women with big breasts. And, no, it is not because I am a big Baby though I freely admit that I am or at that at least my inner child is. I adore big breasted women, all women no matter the size of their ta ta’s really, but big ones especially because they signify to me a big big hearted woman.

Crazy, yeah, well my mother never had me tested like Big Bang’s Sheldon so maybe I am a little. But then I think we all are a little, some more than others. But I would rather be with the smiling, fun-filled crazies than the sad, depressed suicidal ones.

I only had Psychology 101 and 102 in college so I do not consider myself an expert on the subject in any sense of the word but I have spent a lifetime observing people and myself. I believe I know what a “self actualized”, “whole” or “healthy” personality is. And that is someone who loves themself and accepts others for who they are and where they are in their own journey of self discovery. We all have different tastes and preferences but we ought not try to make a religion of those and force others to accept our way as the only way. And we might even be open to learn to enjoy a few new tastes not already known in our pallet or our comfort zone. I mean if you still think macaroni and cheese, burgers and fries, chicken tenders, and pizza are the be all and end all of food choices you might consider a few new additions to your diet. I am speaking literally and figuratively here. There are worlds that your philosophy and mine has not yet dreamed of. Billy Shakespeare got that one right or whoever really wrote those words before I just did.

Smile, it is the intergalactic “I’m giving it the best I’ve got so give me the best you’ve got.” sign. And it works like magic or better said like a magnet drawing to you health, wealth, sunshine and happiness. Not a bad return on such a small investment as a little smile. Show us those pearly whites. I take in back, that is no little investment, but quite a large roll. I thing big enough to choke a large mouthed critter is the appropriate comment here.

Keep on smiling, and counting your blessings. The cash, stocks and bonds should start rolling in any day now. Seriously, would I lie to you. I said, Smile. Quit your giggling at me or don’t it sounds kind of angelic or at least like the angels I like to hang with.

Your friend and fellow traveler,

David White
