Be Yourself
There is after all no one who can be you better than you. No one is better at being you and if you try to be like someone else at best all you can be is a poor copy and at worst a sad and unsatisfied individual. I think I may have mentioned already several times that I believe all the great love songs are written to appeal to our inner child. A few days ago I recorded my own voice singing a favorite love song sung by the incomparable Karen Carpenter and her brother Richard called, “Those Good Old Days.”

Instead of listening for all my key changes trying to sing with Karen who had such a tremendous vocal range listen to the words. They are so true and right for you and me and everyone. What a great way to start the new year, hearing that our biggest, brightest, sweetest dreams do come true and that we can love ourselves just like that and sing to our inner child “it’s all because of you.”
It is a little unusual for a wordy guy like me but I conclude – Be Yourself, Love Yourself. Enough said.
