The Point Of Power, The Present Moment

Sometimes when you read an author often and drink deeply of their thoughts put into words you begin to feel as if you know them perhaps even better than those around you. Louise Hay, who left this life in late August after a long and profilic writing and publishing career, is to me one of those writers. She like the rest of us was not born fully developed but grew and matured all throughout her ninety years with us.

I am reading, The Essential Louise Hay Collection, these words pop out at me, “I know this sounds simple, but remember, the point of power is in the present moment.” If you feel yourself powerless, you are not. We are all of us children and heirs of The Universe and have within us, in our DNA, the power of creation. And I am not even talking about the miracles of cell reproduction or the joining of the right parts of two of us to create another living being, I am talking Genesis power, the power to create a whole new world, our world. We do it every day with our thoughts. Our today is our own creation made by the thoughts we had yesterday and our tomorrow will be as we think today. If you are looking for someone to blame, walk straight to the mirror and point that pretty pointer finger at the image you see and if you cannot say, “Amen” say “I am the man, or woman – guilty as charged.”

But don’t be too hard on your past self for we got to where we are today by thinking and doing as we have thought and done and that is not all bad, in fact some of it is pretty fine. We just need to refine the process and do a lot more intentional creating. Crazy Dave, what it heaven do you mean by that? I mean that too often if we do any conscious thinking at all it is consensus thinking consisting of a lot of stupid things like: “You can’t do that” and “We’ve never done it that way before,” “You’re too old,” “You’re too young,” “You’re too dark,” “You’re too light,” yada, yada, yada. The greater truth is the only limit to your power is you. Not even the sky is the limit. Contrary to the conspiracy theorists, men have walked on the moon and long ago slipped the surly bonds of earth. Wake up, want to do something big and important, who is stopping you? Oh, yeah, you is stopping you. Think a knew thought, “I am the captain of my fate, the master of all I survey.” And watch out world. As my good buddy Tom Spillane from Jersey used to say, “It’s a new month, Honey.” Get an early start on the new month. Heavens, our infinite source, created all that is in seven days, time we kicked our thinkers it to high gear and made something besides some more techno crap and reality TV shows. How long since your mind thought, “You ain’t seen nothing yet.”? Give it a go, let’s put our thinking caps on, Tom Terrific, and make for ourselves a brave new world. “Remember, the point of power is in the present moment.” Thank you, Louise.
