Because You Loved Me

I believe that every true love song sings of the One Love that can truly satisfy and never ever disappoints. I told a friend after listening to a lady singer promise in song never to fail or let her lover down, “Good luck with that.” Only our higher self, God Him/Herself can promise and deliver on that promise. Listen carefully to great love songs and you will hear that promise and never be satisfied with anything less.

As an example of what I am referring to I offer but the chorus of “Because You Loved Me” as sung by the lovely, full throated Celine Dion:

“You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn’t speak
You were my eyes when I couldn’t see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn’t reach
You gave me faith ’cause you believed
I’m everything I am because you loved me.”

No mere man or even wonder woman could love consistently and constantly like that, only One could or can. And He/She does through everyone and everything in our lives. If we could turn back the hands of time or pull back the curtain we would see more than a funny little man, Dorothy, pretending to be the Great and Powerful Oz, we would see Love. And indeed we do every time we look into loving eyes and see that Smile that no mask or amount of make-up can disguise. We see the Great Lover of our souls. And it in is those moments that you and I know and are sure beyond a doubt that these words ring true – “I’m every thing I am because you loved me.”
