Inferior?

A recent book by the same title as this blog debunks with modern scientific studies what for many years has been taught and believed – that men are superior and women therefore inferior to men. The differences between the sexes are much smaller and far less significant than culture, religion, and yes even politics would have us believe. A woman can do anything a man can do. Yes, at the risk of sounding crude that includes even peeing standing up for most of us guys have such poor aim that I am sure girls could do even that with less mess. TMI, (Too Much Information), I know but I am just trying to make a point here.

A man who feels the need to put women down and keep them down only shows himself to be a week minded man with an inferiority complex. True great men have always known how great and equally wonderful women are. It amazes me how long we have allowed this myth of women being in anyway, fashion, or form inferior to men to persist. I do not believe women as a whole are better than men but they are in no way less than or inferior to them. In our myths of the male super hero there are not nearly enough Super women, or Wonder women portrayed. But there are too many in real life to deny that they too are super and wonderful as any man any day.

Women are equal to men in every area from sexual appetite and prowess to mental and physical strength. Yes, there are some little differences and thank the Universe for them but none that explain the continued economic, cultural, political, and religious discrimation against women. I am not a big one for special days like Woman’s Day or even Mother’s Day. Today is, as I write this, Say Something Nice Day. A friend said she thought that was everyday. My sentiment exactly, we should say something nice everyday and honor women, mothers, men, dads, children etc. each and every day. And cease thinking anyone superior or inferior but live out the words and ideals of our Founding Fathers – “We hold these truths to be self evident that all men (and women) are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” To which I can only add a hardy, “You go girls and boys, each and all of you Wonder Women and Super Men.”
