More About Namaste

I gave a brief definition of the greeting or salutation Namaste in the blog yesterday. But there is a more expanded definition that someone sent me. It bears repeating:

Namaste
(Naw – mas – tay)

I honor the place in you where the entire universe resides.
I honor the light, love, truth, beauty, and peace within you,
Because it is also within me. In sharing these things,
We are united, we are the same, we are one.

There is I think a very spiritual corollary to a very wonderful and physical attraction we feel to our sexual counter parts. Nor do I discount for one moment the power and rapturous transport of sexual love. But guys and gals believe it or not there truly is a higher love than sexual or romantic love. And it is available to each and everyone of us even when sexual and romantic love are unavailable or seem impossible to find. There is in each one of us that divine spiritual spark that responds to the same in others but most strongly to our Progenitor our true Papa/Mama, the Lover of our souls.

Some of my Christian friends talk of a Rapture where Christ steals away his bride in the “Last days.” Some spiritual people open to the Universe have been experiencing rapture daily if not moment by moment for as long as they can remember. Indeed why would anyone want to remember anything before total bliss. And in physical or spiritual terms the language is the same, to be totally hers, to be totally his, to forget who is who, to make one of two. Those who know divinity within cannot but acknowlege, bow, salute the same in others.
