Happy New Year, Happy New Life

I have written at length that the literal meaning of the word “blessed” is “happy” and I read a line from the book A Course In Miracles that says, “You do not need God’s blessing because that you have forever but you do need yours.” If we truly realized that that is the only blessing we need to be truly happy this would be the happiest New Year of all. And it will be for some of us but could be for all of us.

But the Presidential election did not go the way I wanted it to some might say. Don’t change the subject. Your happiness your blessedness depends solely on you. But my dog died, the doctor said I have two weeks to live – whatever, the real issue is still the same you have to bless yourself to be blessed for you are completely responsible for your own happiness – no body else. You cannot blame Mommy or Daddy, a boyfriend or girl friend, the lack of one, or too many for your feeling unhappy. You are not cursed but blessed. You are not unlucky but fortunate. You have it in you to make all your dreams come true because He put it there that piece of Himself that makes you Who and Whose you truly are. People are always asking God for this or that but God has already done everything He can. Now it is all up to you to open your heart and mind to let it out, to believe it is yours already.

If you will but bless yourself, love yourself, be happy with yourself your whole world will change for the better. HAPPY NEW YEAR, INDEED! It has amazed me for most of my life how people who even say they believe that they are the children of God can be so weak, sickly, and poor when the keys to strength, health, and the keys to the treasure house are within them. Dear ole Captain Kangaroo used to start each day taking out the keys to the Treasure House and opening it up for all us kids to see Grandfather Clock, Bunny Rabbit and all the treasures inside. Why would a sane person keep asking for the keys when they had them in their own pocket all along. In this crazy crowded world where people feel alone, lost, and without a clue, all the clues are inside you and you have only to love, to accept, to bless that one person to find all the answers to all your questions revealed. Louise Hay, famous self help author and publisher, says all our problems stem from a lack of love for ourselves. We think our problem is loving God or others but if we really loved ourselves that would be easy peasy and indeed it is. Elvis Presley sang, “Well, bless my soul what’s wrong with me? I’m itching like a man on a fuzzy tree. I’m in love. I’m all shook up.” When you allow yourself to bless yourself, to love yourself, you will fall in love with life and that life will be all shook up in the best way. Happy New Year, Happy New Life.
