True Love
If I have one true love it is me but I do not think true love is ever that limited. For me to truly love anyone is to love everyone and everything. Love, Himself, Herself, Itself has rigged the system that way. As all roads lead home all loves lead to Him from whence they came. This is my story, this is my song, as a favorite song from my youth went.
I have truly loved for I am truly loved. Loving one’s self truly is key not only to loving but also to allowing yourself to be loved. There are so many notions about what love is and it is probably all of those things and more for God is Love and God is everthing, therefore Love is everything.
The more we try to define and refine God/Love the less we know. It sounds contradictory but it is neverthess true that neither God nor love can be quantified, categorzed, nor analized to any real degree but must be experienced to be validated. It is actually God/Love that validates us or makes us real and not the other way around.
I heard an old preacher say once that there is no adjectival modifier for the word Christian. By that he meant that any adjective attached to the word was nonesense like, “good Christian” or “poor Christian.” The same is true of God/Love. Of His Creation He remarked after creating all that truly is, “It is good.” Would you argue with God? Only ego is foolish enough to even try that.
There is an expression, “The heart loves what the heart loves.” It is also expressed, “The heart wants what the heart wants.” I submit that any seeming lack is always love and there is plenty more love always available. Only love satisfies, all substitutes leave us feeling hollow and hungry for more. No bottle, no pill can ever fulfill. No drug, no weed can ever succeed. No prescription, no cure, or mirage’s allure can the one crucial ingredient supply. Like calls to like, love calls to love, we are always and in all ways the apple of Love’s eye.
I was always a poet and whether in poetry or prose I find but one subject captivates my mind and my heart. A famous German poet once wrote to a young poet to write of anything but love. But what else is there? Love is not only “All You need” as The Beatles sang but love is all there is. I conclude with another boyhood song I have quoted before and most likely will again. “Love is all around me. It’s everywhere I go. If you really love me come on and let it showed.” You can sing that love song to anyone but it is especially important to sing it to yourself. Ego warns, “That person loves themselves too much.” It is however impossible to love anyone or anything too much. Love is the key that unlocks the treasure house. And as a wise man/god once said, “Where your treasure is, there where will your heart be also.” Do you know what an inestimable treasure you truly are? I am glad I am here to remind you.
