Blog 386 – 08.26.2016
Those three words are three of the most exciting and endearing words in the English language. Think for just a moment of all the dearly departed and how hard it was saying good-bye to them. Think of your loved ones still on this side of life, your friends, all the people you take for granted that you will see again and soon.
Over the passed year and four months since I started my blog, got back on Facebook, and have been trying to promote it, I have reconnected with many friends from my past, turned some old acquaintances into friends and met and continue to meet new friends wherever I go and wherever my blog goes. Oh, I have temporarily lost a few friends to death and even harder some because they disagreed with an opinion I have shared. Honestly there is not an opinion I hold more dearly that you my friends. I try to hold my opinions lightly and my friends hard and fast.
I believe in “the long game” if I fail to win you back on this side I will track you down through a thousand more adventures if I have to like a beloved dog always there when you need to see some kind eyes that see the world in you. I intend to be like my hero, The Hound of Heaven, treat me however you chose I will never stop loving you or ever let you go.
Friends are like that. I saw a movie the other day where a lady that had been consistently pretty hard on her partner said, “Why do you put up with me? Why have you stayed with me all of these years?” He replied with the perfect response, “Because I love you.”
Jesus said to the boys once in so many words if you only are good to those who are good to you, if you only love those who love you what kind of love is that? Next time you here someone say or catch yourself saying “See you later” color that expression with all the love you can muster, brush that tear off you cheek, and know you have heard and said all you need to. If not again in this play I will see you later in another adventure or on a far brighter shore.
Your friend and fellow traveler,
David White
