As a young teenager I once wrote: “As my life I would wish of beauty to write…” There is beauty all around us if we just open our eye to it and become truly aware of our surroundings. Who would have ever predicted that multitudes of people, myself included, would one day spend hours each day staring at a little screen in their hand.
A lot of older folks think this a travesty or that things are going to hell in a hand basket. That is an old expression and some old folks have a tendency to think like that and usually it is because they remember the world of their youth perhaps a bit more nostalgically than they ought. I always try to remind older people who seem to think youth is wasted on the young that these are the good ole days and that goodness like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What thoughts we hold in our hearts and minds and the words we say out loud and even those we whisper hoping no one else will hear these are the seeds from which our tomorrows grow. Hence, “If there is anything lovely think on these things” is some pretty sound advice.
Like most writers I dream of someday painting a picture with words so apt that some one will say or write about it, “That was beautiful.” Granted the more I write and the longer I write the more I increase the odds that I will one day make that dream come true. But there is at least one more very important consideration in the beauty business before we can translate it or create it we must open our minds our hearts, and our eyes to the beauty that is already all around us. For when beauty and love are allowed to flow in and through us not only will whatever we do, say, sing, write, or paint be touched by beauty but all who behold our efforts will be as well.
Pretty big task being a transmitter and translator of beauty. But it is our mission if we decide to accept it and rest assured that the true head of the IMF (Incredible Masterpieces Forever) Beauty Department will never disavow any of our efforts nor our actions.
Have a nice day, Beautiful. And yes, I’m talking to you. You know who you are. How about flashing that fabulous smile again. Show us what you’re working with. Wow, you might what to turn that down a bit or the whole town might think someone is flashing the BAT signal again (Beautiful All Together.)
