An Encouraging Word
I think, I use the term think rather than believe because thoughts are easier to change than beliefs, each of us has a higher self that only has the highest and best intentions for us. The trouble is we have an enemy and no it is not one of our brothers. The term Satan literally means accuser of the brothers. We have but one true enemy and the comic strip character Pogo named him many years ago in the famous line, “We have discovered the enemy and he is us.” That ole whisperer is not a red horned devil but our own Ego who has but one true aim – to keep us from listening to our higher best self and experiencing all that is our birthright as a child of the Universe, God if you prefer.
The Old Testament prophets began most of their writings with the phrase, “The word of the LORD came into me saying…” For sometime I have posed the question, “What is meditation?” The answer came to me this morning – Being still. As a young man and as a child I read the King James Version and then other translations of the Judeo-Christian holy books. I think in these terms they are so familiar to me. The words bubble up in my consciousness. “Be still and know that I am God.”
The Ego likes noise, the Ego likes the storm, the higher self always speaks in a still small voice and speaks to the storm, “Be still and know that I am God.” If you are wondering, wandering, in need of an encouraging word. Still your heart, pose a question, and listen for the still small voice and the answer will come. You are not just a part of the Universe. The Universe is a part of you. You are a magnificent being awakening to your highest potential. That is from the eighth intent from Ten Intentions for a Better World. Check out the other nine at Intenders For A Better World.
