In the poem I post today I share what I saw in a little round that many of us were taught as children – “Row, row, row you boat gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.” Just suppose that a loving and all powerful father wanted his children to experience life in all its fullness but in a way that no matter how careless or dangerous their choices no lasting harm would come to them. Today many science fiction movies speculate about virtual worlds where you can do as you please without consequences. What we do even in dreams has consequences in the dream but does that mean we must spend all eternity paying for deeds done in a moment? I don’t think so. Most religions have way too much condemnation, judgement, and guilt for my taste. I choose to believe in a Universe of Mind and Heart where no matter what is done in dreams every child awakes safe and sound in Father’s House, Home at last.
WHAT’S DONE IN DREAMS
By David J. White
We are often unaware
Of our subconscious intentions to fail
Or that by our own negative self-talk
We make our life a virtual hell.
This world IS what we make it.
We’ve no one else to blame.
The hero and villain of our story
Wear the same name.
“We have discovered the enemy
And it is us.”
But we can learn to love our enemy
And in his innate goodness trust.
This is your dream you made it
And if that at first sounds a bit strange
Remember what’s done in dreams can be undone
For dreamers have the power their dreams to change.
Your friend, fellow traveler, and dreamer,
David White
