Blog 204 – 01.11.2016
This is the third in a short series of blogs inspired by the chorus of the song I’m Yours sung by Jason Mraz. I quote it again:
“Open up your eyes and see like me.
Open up your mind and damn your free.
Look into your heart and you’ll find
Love, love, love, love.”
It is a pretty bold first line “Open up your eyes and see like me.” I often include the disclaimer in my blogs that these are my opinions and I could be wrong. I am not telling anyone what to think or saying everyone has to see things exactly as I do. In fact very early in my blogs I talked about my skewed view, my particular way of looking at things from a different angle.
I do think if people would open their eyes we would see more things in common. Too often we are sleep walking through life accepting “the conventional wisdom” or “group think” that we are taught by those who would control us or make merchandise of us.
Some of the lies we are taught are just to keep us off balance or away from our true center and source of truth. In this country for as long as I have been here and longer children have been taught to pledge allegiance to the flag by placing their right hand over their heart. Children are told their heart is located on the left side of their chest. The truth is your heart is in the center of you chest. Little ego both yours and others would have you confused about where you heart is because that is where heaven, happiness, and all you seek is to be found.
Some people actually believe we have a third eye. Whether that is so or not I believe the heart sees clearest and most true because within it resides the Source of all Wisdom, Truth, and Love. The intellect or rational mind is so easily duped or doped into a sleepiness that is described as seeing through a glass darkly.
Some believe that we will never see clearly till we awake in a land beyond the skies. But I believe we need not wait till some future time or distant place to open our eyes and see ourself, others, and this world as we truly are. Only little ego would depict this wonderful world as a mean and scary place full of demons and enemies everywhere so we would keep our eyes closed tight lest we be frighten by all the horribleness around us. Horse feathers, “This is my Father’s world. I rest me in the thought of rocks and trees of skies and seas. His hand the wonders wrought.” Just open up you eyes, see for yourself or as Jason sings, “Open up your eyes and see like me…
