A Pretty Girl Is Like A Melody

Blog 187 – 12.17.15

Yesterday I wrote briefly about a pretty French girl, Marie Antoinette. I have always been fascinated by pretty girls. A lot of guys are and the fascination starts early and stays right up to the end of this journey. I do not think it an accident that the Paradise of the Muslims and the Heaven of the Christians seems to be populated mostly by pretty girls. On that subject two quick observations. First as to the ninety-nine virgins, I think a handful of experienced girls would be a lot more fun. Then as to the beautiful feminine angels, I do not recall one Bible verse of the many having to do with angels where there is named even one girl angel. A lot of guys will be disappointed.

Oh, but guys there is a whole world full of pretty girls here. Everywhere you look even in Wyoming. On my first work assignment to Wyoming several years ago I met a lady pipeline inspector who announced, “Dave, you are going to love working in Wyoming because there is a pretty girl behind every tree.” I looked around and the scene reminded me of an old John Wayne western, buttes, rocks, and miles and miles of sage brush but not a tree in sight.

I guess you are supposed to bring your own girl and I do for my heart and mind are full of all the pretty girls I have met in my life. I still love each and everyone. Yes, even the ones I broke my heart over. It healed back just fine as they always do when we quit picking at the scabs.

The song says, “A pretty girl is like a melody.” My life has been full of music and so I wouldn’t change a thing.
