A Tribute To Mom and Dad

Blog 111 – 9.8.15

My natural Mom and Dad left this world over a decade and a half ago, fifteen years for my mom and seventeen for my dad. I miss them both but am fortunate enough to have in the great state of South Carolina a wonderful Mom and Dad still on this side.

Having been married four times. I used to refer to myself as a four times loser but have developed a more positive outlook on life and now consider myself a four time winner. Just think I was able to convince four beautiful women to marry me. A true loser couldn’t do that. In addition to the beautiful women and a wonderful daughter and son, I got four additional Moms and Dads and I loved each one of them for the unique and magnificent people they were and are. The first three sets like my birth parents have moved to an even more beautiful climate. But I still have my loving South Carolina Mom and Dad.

All who know them without exception love them and appreciate them as I do. Even my birth parents never made me feel more loved than these two sweet and precious souls. Mom, well she’s just an Angel and one of the easiest people to love I ever met. And Dad, though not as easy, is himself one of the most caring men I have ever known. I cannot tell you the number of times he has stopped to help a motorist along the road even when he had pressing business of his own to attend to down the road. They ought to put his picture in the dictionary next to the term Good Samaritan.

I love these two people and have never felt anything for them or from them but love and appreciation. In-laws and out-laws are all loved the same by them. Many Christians have disappointed me over the years with their narrow/mindedness and judging and even condemning attitudes but Mom and Dad have been so consistent in their loving that even when I have thought life, religion, and all a sham I appreciated their prayers and will always be grateful for them.

My hat is truly off to these two beautiful people that I am proud and happy to call my Mom and Dad. Their seven surviving children and the many like me who have just adopted them as our Mom and Dad too consider ourselves blessed to have them both and hope to yet for some time to come.

Your friend and fellow traveler, Wallace and Betty’s other boy,
David White
